What Is A Birdie?
Each hole on the golf course is designed for a certain number of shots for the player to hit the golf ball from the tee to the cup on the green. The number of shots is considered par. If a hole is designed for three shots to sink the ball in the cup (par = 3) and the player manages to hit the ball into the cup in two shots, it is considered a birdie (one less than par)!
